Plans and billing
Every workspace is on one of three plans. Settings > Plan shows the workspace's plan, what this month has cost so far, the current prices, and the invoices. Limitr runs its own plans with Limitr, so what you see there is the same engine and policy your customers get.

Free
Free is for building and checking a policy: the code and no-code editor, saved drafts, validation, the starter templates. It includes $1 of Dot usage to try it, once (it doesn't reset): Dot can write your policy and simulate it with made-up customers. When it's used, Dot asks you to upgrade; your conversations, drafts, and policy stay.
Free can't publish a policy, create SDK keys, or have customers and notifications. Those start with Pay as you go.
Pay as you go
A base fee each month, plus what you use:
- Active customers. A live customer that had a governed call this month counts once, however many calls it makes. A number of them are included with the base fee. Test mode never counts.
- Governed calls. Each active customer includes a number of calls. Calls past what's included with all your active customers are billed per call.
- Dot's usage. What Dot's models cost, passed through with a small markup. Some is included each month. The plan page and Dot's composer show this month's usage.
The prices and the amounts included are on Settings > Plan.
Upgrading
Choose Upgrade to Pay as you go on Settings > Plan. With no card on file, enter one and choose Save and upgrade: the workspace moves to the plan as soon as the card is saved. With a card already saved, confirm with Move to Pay as you go. Limitr bills the base fee and your usage at the end of each month, to the card on file. Replace the card any time with Update card. Changing plans and cards needs the Manage billing permission; others see "Someone with billing access can change plans."
The monthly budget alert
Pay as you go has a monthly budget alert ($1,000 to start). Limitr emails the workspace's owner when this month's bill reaches 80% and 100% of it. It's an alert only: nothing is limited or paused, and your customers never notice. Change it with Change next to the meter; the dialog also has Use the plan's to go back to the plan's amount. Only billed usage counts toward it, not what's included.
Moving back to Free
Move to Free keeps your policy, drafts, and customers, but you can't publish, connect apps, or use SDK keys until you upgrade again. This month's usage so far is still billed.
Enterprise
Enterprise is a contract with us: everything in Pay as you go, plus custom contracts for your own customers (pricing rules and per-customer prices), dashboards Dot builds and saves, Dot on the largest model for deep work like policy design and analysis, and usage included by contract. It's invoiced, never limited, and comes with direct support from the Limitr team. Book a call to talk about it.
Invoices
Settings > Plan lists the workspace's invoices (paid, due, or nothing due), and This month so far shows what's been used and what it costs, line by line, with the card on file.
